About helium cylinder hire
Hire works out cheaper than disposables the moment you go past about 150 balloons, and it scales a long way further — the largest cylinder here fills over a thousand. You pay for the gas and the cylinder hire together, and send the empty back when you are done.
Six sizes cover most jobs. If you are decorating a village hall, the 1.81m³ X-Small is usually plenty. A wedding with table bouquets and an arch is closer to 3.6m³. Anything above that and you are into marquee and shop-opening territory.
Collection is the cheaper option and there are depots across the country. Delivery costs more but the cylinder arrives on a pallet at your address, which matters if you have not got a van or a couple of people to lift it.
Common questions
- How long can I keep the cylinder?
- Standard hire runs for four weeks from collection or delivery. If you need it longer, tell us when you order and we will price the extra time up front rather than charging it after the fact.
- What happens to the empty cylinder?
- You return it to the same depot you collected from, or we arrange collection if it was delivered. There is nothing to do to it first — just make sure the valve is closed.
- Do I need any equipment?
- Every hire cylinder comes with an inflator. Tell us on the cylinder page whether you are filling latex, foil or both, and the right one comes with it.
