About foil balloons

The valve seals itself as you pull the filler out, so there is no knot to tie and no clip to fit. That makes foil considerably quicker than latex when you are doing a few hundred, and it is why most retail displays use them.

A filled foil will still be up several days later, and often more than a week indoors. They also deflate gently enough to be stored flat and refilled for the next event, which is worth knowing if you run regular functions.

Keep them out of direct sun. Foil expands in heat, and a balloon filled hard in a cool room will split along a seam if it then spends an afternoon in a south-facing window.

Common questions

Can foil balloons be reused?
Yes. Press the valve open with a straw to let the gas out, store them flat, and refill when you need them. They lose a little each time but will usually take three or four goes.
Do they need a special filler?
They need a foil nozzle, which is narrower than a latex one and sits inside the valve. Our inflator kits include both, and most hire cylinders can be ordered with a filling kit.
Why has my foil balloon gone soft overnight?
Almost always temperature. Gas contracts as a room cools, so a balloon that looked full at 9pm can look slack by morning and firm up again during the day. If it stays soft, the valve has not seated — pinch it closed and refill.
